Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery:
    • Direct and manage application development from design to delivery, following Kinnser Agile methodology and engineering design and coding standards.
    • Provide hands-on technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership. Be proficient in full stack development including understanding design patterns, data schema patterns, etc.
    • Lead or participate in design efforts, design reviews, and code reviews.
    • Provide assistance to team members to determine and resolve system problems.
    • Develop full-scale plans to manage initiatives in support of development; manage major enhancements of products. Identify and manage project dependencies, milestones, and timeline.
    • Manage changes in scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
    • Define success criteria and disseminate to involved parties.
    • Participate in sprint or release retrospectives; create and document action items, instilling mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Communication:
    • Manage and communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders in timely and clear fashion.
    • Deliver progress reports, proposals, design documentation, training, and presentations.
  • Consulting:
    • Seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Leadership:
    • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise team members and contractors, promoting accountability for assigned work. Mentor team members on career growth.
    • Encourage innovation, outside-the-box thinking, and teamwork.
    • Provide recommendations to management concerning issues of programmer productivity and software development.
    • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
    • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within project team.
  • Business Acumen:
    • Understand and supportproduct roadmap: understand business value, market strategy, blueprint, architecture, performance, business operations, risks, etc.
    • Determine need for additional staff and make appropriate recruitments.
    • Determine hardware and software needs, obtain approval, and coordinate vetting and purchase/installation in collaboration with Operations.
    • Report team progress to ensure alignment with Engineering and Kinnser OKRs.
    • Manage technical product costs in support of product roadmap.
  • Other:
    • Protect confidentiality of any PHI information.
    • Seek to enhance knowledge and experience, drawing on senior colleagues as well as self-study. Stay up-to-date on technology trends, experimenting with new technologies to determine applicability to Kinnser technology roadmap.



  • Bachelordegree or appropriate experience.
  • Outstanding academic performance (3.0 or higher cumulative GPA).
  • Preferred majors are Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems/Decision Sciences, Mathematics, Sciences, or other STEM related majors.


Professional Skill Requirements and Experience

  • 5-8 years’ experience in an Engineering management role that touches on multiple aspects of the SDLC.
  • Business Acumen:
    • Represent Kinnser in customer meetings.
    • Understand product and customer requirements and propose solution approaches.
  • Technical:
    • Demonstrable experience on principles, theories, techniques, and methodologies of systems analysis.
    • Advanced knowledge and demonstrable experience of computer programming, data modeling, and object-oriented analysis/design/programming procedures and techniques. Proficiency in .NET C#. Proficiency in Java preferred.
    • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, methods, and processes.
    • Advanced knowledge of standard development tools, data stores, and testing tools.
    • Expert knowledge of development methodologies (Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban, etc.).
    • Expert knowledge and experience with full-stack, back-end, and front-end design and programming.
    • Ability to design, code, edit, and debug computer programs.
    • Ability to define specifications of system for appropriate hardware.
    • Maintain professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies, writing whitepapers, speaking at professional events, etc.
