About the role
As an engineering manager at Hazel, you'll serve as a leader for a team of 4 to 6 software engineers by being directly involved in their individual success, promoting an inclusive and collaborative engineering culture, holding the team to standards of operational excellence, and guiding the delivery of technical projects on both short-term and long-term timescales. This role blends people skills, project management, technical knowledge, and big-picture thinking, situating you at a crucial nexus of Hazel's work. You'll be expected to contribute to strategic conversations about our technical and business roadmaps, support our tactical goals for hiring and project deliverables, and roll up your sleeves for day-to-day involvement in technical matters and engineer support. In short, you're responsible for the growth, health, and bandwidth of an engineering team, supporting the people and processes that bring Hazel's products to life.
What we offer
Compensation for this role is $130K - $150K (DOE), plus equity, annual bonuses, and a generous benefits package including medical/dental/vision and parental leave. We also support perks such as partial time-off for election days and qualifying volunteer opportunities.
In terms of work culture, our team takes pride in close collaboration, honesty, empathy, friendliness, and our commitment to diversity. We operate in an agile manner that keeps processes to a minimum and enables team members to stay focused on their work.
Although we're currently working remotely, we do plan to adopt a hybrid model (2+ days in office) once public health conditions permit; therefore, we require a Seattle-area presence and do not have fully-remote opportunities at this time.
We are not able to provide H1B sponsorship; however, relocation assistance within the United States is negotiable.
