Job Duties & Requirement (included but not limited to the following):

  • Directly manage all engineering personnel and activities in a manner to promote a LEAN culture.

  • Lead engineering support necessary to provide a safe workplace.

  • Lead engineering resources to address and solve any quality issues and complaints.

  • Participate in and lead Ceco team in company-wide cost extraction programs. These activities include VAVE projects, Kaizen events, line balance and flow improvements, acquiring and implementing new technology, and whatever line support is necessary to maximize the existing processes.

  • Lead engineering resources to provide accountability for the production efficiency metrics.

  • Responsible for the design, concept and purchasing of all new machinery, equipment and tooling.

  • Responsible for the support required to maintain the building, property, and tooling assets.

  • Prepare and administer yearly capital budgets and planning activities.

  • Prepare presentations to be presented at Door Group wide calls and meetings.

  • Represent Ceco in all Door Group level activities that pertain to operations.

  • Participate in interviews and the hiring process for technical positions.

  • End result of all duties and responsibilities will be measured by the overall operational results ofthe Milan facility.

  • Leads large project teams of significant scope including other cross-functional colleagues.

  • Guides design and implementation of optimum manufacturing process sequences.

  • May serve as cross-functional expert in cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.

  • Develops change management proposals, drafts plans and oversees project activities.

  • Trains, coaches and mentors engineers and other cross-function team members

  • Manages work assignments in staffing, scheduling, coordinating, and planning of personnel engaged in manufacturing engineering activities.

  • Organizes and coordinates sections of the engineering department.

  • Plans and establishes engineering schedules and follows up performance against estimates.

  • Supervises assembly of cost control and statistical data.

  • Abide by, support and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, AADG policies and procedures and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

  • Ensures a safe work environment and has a passion for safety

  • Occasional travel.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet expectations of each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.

Education:

  • BS in Engineering

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent LEAN certification a plus

Experience:

  • 7 years minimum in an engineering position.

  • 5 years working experience in a manufacturing operation preferably metal forming.

  • Hollow metal background is a plus.

  • Minimum of 3 years management responsibility of others.

  • Previous experience in leading large projects.

Other:

  • Must be familiar with tooling and machinery design

  • Must be and effective manager of people and projects

  • Must be proficient in all the aspects of cultivating a LEAN culture.

  • Should have approximately 10 years' experience in manufacturing engineering, equipment maintenance, tooling or other related fields

  • Must be proficient with CAD systems and applicable software tools.

  • Must be proficient with MS Office suite of tools

  • Able to travel using all forms of transportation
