Will manage the Sustaining Engineering department. Develop and implement procedures used to assemble, process, test and/or manufacture of hermetically sealed undersea/harsh environment connectors and assemblies. Provide technical expertise in developing production sequence and methods on special production projects. Responsible for directing the Engineering group with strategies and expectations of the Company and customer requirements. Assure that adequate engineering systems and programs are developed, implemented and are in place to meet company goals and objectives. Participate in the development of continual improvement plans and capital projects. Interface with customers to identify and resolve their engineering requirements. Make recommendations of prototype products for improvement. Work closely with the Sales and Quality teams to meet customer requirements and needs. Create and produce a variety of written material such as forms, graphics and other documents of similar complexity. Participate in cross-departmental groups investigating problems, developing solutions and preparing related recommendations and reports. Provide technical direction and project management guidance to the team of engineers. Provide technical engineering expertise to assure and maintain effective program launches, safe , efficient and reliable manufacturing processes.
BS in an engineering discipline; 10 years experience in an engineering organization; 5-8years experience in management. Must have knowledge of glass to metal seal, all basic machining practices and production flow requirements. Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact with a diverse range of personnel. Proficient with CAD and SolidWorks. Demonstrated history of completing complex engineering projects on schedule and within budget.
