Primary Job Accountabilities
- Project Lead – Leading engineering network design projects, developing LLamasoft SCGX models work with support and related resources to achieve customer specified goals in the given timeframe
- Thought Leadership - Serve internal and external customers by providing insights in Supply Chain Optimization.
- Transportation Optimization – Support route optimization projects to both internal and external customers in order to reduce cost and improve service.
- Network Optimization Solutions - Provide innovative supply chain solutions to both internal and external customers through network design & optimization projects
- Mentorship – Mentor existing engineers in modeling skill sets, SCGx modeling
- Customer Relationships - Consistent and professional communications; effective, prompt and courteous communications with respect to difficult situations.
Essential Functions and Tasks
- Optimization Project Delivery
- Lead supply chain design and network optimization initiatives
- Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis of customers supply chain opportunities Evaluate and design/model customer distribution network
- Use advanced modeling, LLamasoft’s SCGX to evaluate and optimize the customer's transportation and distribution network
- Develop models in LLamasoft for network and inventory projects with help from support team
- Serve as a LLamasoft SCG SME within Transplace
- Engineering lead
- Lead the process of gathering customer requirements
- Schedule strategy calls with stakeholders
- Assign responsibilities to SMEs
- Coordinate SME assignments with cross-functional teams, holding all participants accountable to project deliverables and deadlines.
- Communicate to stakeholders on progress
- Ensure solutions meet customer expectations in both timeliness and quality
- Lead scenario analysis workshop to analyze results and run number of what if scenarios before coming up with the final solution
- Share the results of the scenario with the customer for final validation and assignments.
- Support executive presentations with clients after completing the projects

- Challenge and raise question in field of expertise and provide new thinking and processes
- Standardize current processes and lead continuous improvement projects
- Generalize and provide global inferences and actionable takeaways
- Author internal and external publications
- Represent company in conferences and symposiums
- Supervision
- Split project into actionable tasks
- Allocate to junior engineers according to the required skills
- Share methodology to get to the final solution
- Provide guidance at pre-determined intervals or as necessary
- Review final output with the engineers

- Establish career goals of mentees
- Assist in identifying strengths and weaknesses
- Challenge mentees to grow professionally
- Help them build a network with peers and successful professionals
- Customer Relationships
- Communicate effective, prompt, detailed and courteous communications
- Act as an expert adviser to the customer to inform them of options and recommend the best practice for the customer's supply chain.
Knowledge and Expertise
- Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Ability to develop applications to retrieve and change data through SQL
- Basic knowledge of optimization software – Coupa (LLamasoft’s Supply chain guru X, Transportation Guru etc.)
- Basic Understanding of Supply Chain Management Principles & Strategies - Design, planning, execution, control, and monitoring of supply chain activities with the objective of creating net value, building a competitive infrastructure, leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply with demand and measuring performance globally
- Detailed understanding of the TMS and how it interacts with the Transplace optimization framework
- Statistical Analysis - Expertise in the collection, examination, summarization, manipulation, and interpretation of quantitative data to discover its underlying causes, patterns, relationships, and trends
- Transportation industry knowledge, including key terminology; and, general knowledge of primary customer industries
- Working Knowledge of relational database and SQL
- Working Knowledge of Tableau or other BI tools for reporting project output and summaries
- Detailed understanding of the different modes of transportation, sourcing strategies

Experience and Education
- Minimum of 5 Years of experience in a logistics engineering role is required
- S. degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related field is required
- B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related field with 5+ years of experience in the transportation/logistics industry can be substituted for a Master's degree
