As the Engineering Lead, you will mentor and coach the software engineers on your team to improve their performance and grow their careers. You will design complex systems that scale globally. The ideal candidate will be passionate and experienced in areas like cloud infrastructure, database design, query optimization, security and privacy

As our customer base is rapidly increasing, you will lead the team through the following challenges in the first 3-6 months

Improving overall system reliability and increasing uptime - 99.99% availability or higher
Reducing latency of user interfaces
Fast message processing and throughput
Reducing infrastructure cost

Your impact

Design and architect solutions to technical challenges
Review code and technical design documents. Identify potential issues and suggest solutions for complex technical challenges
Provide feedback and mentorship of team members. Deliver performance reviews and advice on career next steps
Recruit high performing software developers and onboard new team members to ensure fast ramp up
Track the status and progress for complex software projects to ensure on time launches and high quality customer experience

Requirements

3 to 7 years of programming / software development e.g. Java, Python
Track record of delivering on complex software projects
Experience leading teams and coaching / mentoring other software engineers
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to troubleshoot bug reports, investigate causes and suggest potential software solutions

Preferred but not required

Experience with database design, administration and optimization e.g. MySQL
Experience with server configuration and optimization e.g. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, etc
Experience with security and privacy engineering
Experience with Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing
Ability to research libraries, APIs, frameworks to solve architecture challenges
