Position Description

Ambri, an energy startup commercializing innovative battery technology developed at MIT, is seeking anEngineering Lab Manager to coordinate lab operations for our liquid metal battery technology. This individual willreport directly to the Director of Engineering. Responsibilities include:

  • Directly supervising laboratory technicians and/or entry level engineers

    Ambri, an energy startup commercializing innovative battery technology developed at MIT, is seeking anEngineering Lab Manager to coordinate lab operations for our liquid metal battery technology. This individual willreport directly to the Director of Engineering. Responsibilities include:

    • Directly supervising laboratory technicians and/or entry level engineers
    • Ensuring all lab staff have adequate resources to perform all aspects of work required
    • Ensuring compliance with all corporate policy procedures in the laboratory
    • Compiling and analyzing test information to determine operating efficiency of processes and equipment and to diagnose problems and malfunctions
    • Coordinating logistics of cell builds and lab activities in an R&D environment
    • Recommending and implementing measures to improve procedures, use of equipment, and needs for new equipment

     Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of experience, or 7-10 years’ experience in a related field
    • Experience managing a diverse team in a fast-paced environment is a must
    • Effective organizational and written/verbal communication skills
    • Recognized as a go-to individual with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
    • Strong work ethic and positive working attitude
    • Experience with electrochemical, high temperature, and/or metallurgical systems a plus
    • Experience contributing to safety related tasks a plus
