Overview

With the position of senior manager / director engineering, Security IP, we are looking for a deep technical manager, who will provide leadership to the worldwide engineering organization responsible for the Synopsys Security IP product portfolio. This role includes the definition of product roadmaps, management of the worldwide engineering team developing new products, driving continuous improvement, supporting the Marketing and Sales organizations and lead the effort of working with (lead) customers to make them successful with the Security IP products, including subsystems and software. This is an extremely challenging and exiting position, at a moment where the security functionality in the products of our customers is rapidly growing, to help prevent a wide range of evolving threats in connected devices such as theft, tampering, side channels attacks, malware and data breaches.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the worldwide team of engineers developing Synopsys Security IP products. This involves semiconductor hardware IP, embedded software as well as IP subsystems (hardware and software)
• Establish product roadmaps that meet the future need of Synopsys customers in the area of security solutions for embedded systems. This in collaboration with the Marketing and Field organizations
• Product development in the engineering team, through a project-based organization. Responsibility for project targets, schedules and execution excellence. Continuous improvement of product development processes
• Support pre-sales customer engagements from the engineering team, champion key customer opportunities and drive business together with Marketing, Sales and the Field teams
• Stay up to date with latest developments in the domain of embedded system security. Drive innovation in our products also through collaboration with leading-edge Universities and partners in the industry

Requirements

• Extensive experience leading global IC and/or semiconductor IP development teams
• Good knowledge about modern IC architectures, IC design flows and embedded software development
• Experience in hardware/software co-design and modern verification technology. Quality focus
• Strong team building skills, highly energetic, business savvy, strategic mindset combined with thoughtful short-term tactics to grow business
• Organizer, bringing different disciplines together (like Engineering, Field, Marketing and Sales) for best results
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentations), strength in presenting to customers
• Action oriented, always sees new opportunities and gets energized by those
• Strong negotiating skills, good at convincing others and to get things done, even if not under direct control
• Desirable: Knowledge of embedded security solutions and cryptographic protocols; knowledge of automotive standards like ISO 26262
• MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience
