Summary: Research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineeringrequired. Two to four yearsengineeringexperiencerequired. Skills and Competencies: Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability. Team player and detail oriented. Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas. Advanced ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations. Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports. Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field. Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and othermechanical devices. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects. Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications. Implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.

Candidate Responsibilities

Perform technical analysis of manufacturing processes to support management decisions; Design / direct the acquisition, design, fabrication and repair of all necessary tooling and machines.

Typical Day

Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues, develops solutions, and monitors improvements. Monitor all exchange and in-house requirements. Procure material related to manufacturing improvements through external suppliers. Perform quality checks on machines. Analyze and deploys engineering change notices. Establish and maintain bill of materials and work orders. Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements. Provide day-to-day coaching duties in absence of team leader. Working with planners and CI Techs (Continuous Improvement). Review engineering changes. Review blueprints. Manage budget for the group making sure no overages. Position is located at an assembly facility. Position will be on shop floor 50% and sedentary work 50%. Caterpillar approved Safety Boots and Glasses required.

Technical Skills Required

AutoCAD experience. Working knowledge of Standard Assembly tools and their applications. Ability to train on Standard Work and SOPs.

Soft Skills Required

Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts. Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers.
