Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Satellite Antenna Engineer to work in our Aurora, CO office. The Engineer will perform system design, specification development, solution selection, procurement, system integration, deployment, test and maintenance. The candidate should have demonstrated experience with antenna systems, front end ground systems and with general end to end signal processing system components.  The candidate should have demonstrated experience designing and utilizing a variety of lowest-level RF components (amplifiers, attenuators, splitters, band pass filters, etc.) to manipulate an RF signal to support a required set of signal characteristics.  The candidate should have demonstrated experience with common RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, TDRs, etc.

The candidate should be able tosupport engineering business rhythms (review boards, change controlprocesses, etc.) in the context of a large Program.The candidate is expected to operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment, to be highly self-motivated. The individual is expected to handle diverse assignments with efficiency, finding unique solutions and working in a very collaborative and fast-paced environment.The candidate will also ideally haveexperience in the domain encompassing computer-based solutions (SW-defined radio) forRF processing, including general Linux skills. This position may be filled at a higher job grade based on thequalifications listed below. 

Qualifications

 This position may be filled as either a level 3 or a level 4.   Basic Qualifications for a Level 3: 

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related technical degree with 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Masters; 0 years with a PhD
  • Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI clearance by start date?
  • Strong fundamentals in microwave and RF domains
  • Previous experience with satellite antenna systems and all required signal characteristics to specify a system and all downstream signal processing components
  • Experience in complex system assessment/analysis with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Familiarity with Windows, and/or Linux operating systems

Basic Qualifications for a Level 4: 

    • B.S. in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related technical degree with 9 years of relevant experience; 7 years with a Masters; 4 years with a PhD
    • Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI clearance by start date?
    • Strong fundamentals in microwave and RF domains
    • Previous experience with satellite antenna systems and all required signal characteristics to specify a system and all downstream signal processing components
    • Experience in complex system assessment/analysis with exceptional attention to detail

    • Ability to work well in a team.
    • Familiarity with Windows, and/or Linux operating systems

Preferred Qualifications:

    • M.S. in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related technical degree
    • Experience with testing and troubleshootingelectrical and software systems
    • Experience with precision timing solutions
    • Experience with civil construction (concrete pad, etc.) associated with implementation of a large antenna system
    • Experience in the power and electrical domain
    • Experience with fiber optics, encompassing RF over fiber and traditional networked fiber
    • Experience with a range of IT solutions including servers, switches, operating systems
    • Project management experience
    • Expert level MS Excel
