Support senior engineers and scientists in the development of space borne scientific instrumentation. Develop and implement, oversee fabrication, troubleshoot, test and analyse new circuit and PCB designs. Perform requirements verification and ensure adherence to process controls and procedures. Present results of design and testing activities during design reviews.
Requires a BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related with at least a 3.0 GPA. Must have coursework in digital logic and FPGA design, digital circuit simulation and analysis, knowledge and familiarity with test equipment such as DMM, Oscilliscope, logic analyzer pulse generator, data acquisition system, and programming experience. Master's degree is highly desired. Research Engineer position requires 3 - 7 years experience in digital logic design, hands on experience with electronics test equipment, circuit troubleshooting experience, and FPGA design experience (Verilog). Requires a strong desire to expand into other electronics areas including analog electronics systems. Individual initiative and strong communications skills are required. Preferred skills include: familiarity with worst-case timing analysis, analog circuits, digital VLSI design, LabView or LabWindows, micro-controllers, and with scientific instruments. Highly desirable skills include: Knowledge of embedded processor design (FPGA), mixed-circuit design, and with space based instrumentation. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
