What We're Looking For
The time is right to join HNTB! We are looking for a technically sound engineer who is ready to be challenged on projects that could consist of corridor improvements, bridge replacements, interstate widening, and transit-oriented site development, depending upon the candidate’s preference. The engineer will primarily work independently while contributing to the overall effort of the design team to deliver quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project. We have projects with notable clients such as PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, SEPTA, Amtrak, and DRPA. We offer a flexible work schedule and the position could be located in any of our Pennsylvania offices or virtually.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Experience preparing reports, plans, calculations, estimates and designs for transportation projects. Examples include: Basis of Design, Line and Grade, Safety Review, Design Field View, Right of Way, Traffic Control, Signing & Pavement Marking, Cross Sections, Final Design plans and specifications
Performs under the supervision of a senior engineer with the opportunity to provide technical guidance to less experienced staff
Serves as technical liaison with client at staff level for work within the discipline
Collaborates closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
Experience with MicroStation
Ability to travel to HNTB office, client office or project sites in Pennsylvania
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
8 years of experience with roadway designs
Professional Engineer Certification
Master's degree in Engineering
Experience with PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, SEPTA, Amtrak or land development projects
Inroads or OpenRoads experience
Surface modeling experience with Inroads
What You'll Need
Responsible for completion of discipline engineering project elements such as reports, designs, specifications and plans.
Responsible for coordination and productivity of subordinates. Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
Works closely with other disciplines and multi-discipline projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
5 years relevant experience
