What you’ll do:

  • Learn how our developers build, push, configure and monitor applications
  • Partner with engineering and product to design, build, run and evolve development tools
  • Bring feedback and requirements for features, processes, and systems
  • Work with architects to gather feedback and evangelize tools, techniques, and standards
  • Track metrics and conduct analysis on inbound contact activity across developers identifying patterns and trends
  • Provide consultation and guidance to developer support and teams
  • Build, review, and maintain documentation for developer tools
  • Review and maintain documentation, create other support materials for developers
  • Innovate and improve on support-related services

Who you are:

  • Domain expert on developer support tools
  • Experience working with customers to address and resolve issues, in support of technical products or services (1 year minimum)
  • Experience in professional system engineering (2 years minimum)
  • Experience operating in container orchestrated ecosystems (Kubernetes, Mesosphere)
  • Ability to assess the needs of large groups of teams and articulate them as related to business value
  • Ability to coach developers on common tools and standards
  • Ability to advocate the needs and pain-points of development teams
  • Competent technical and software development skills (DevOps, SDLC)
  • Demonstrated experience in working with an architect
  • A mentor to junior engineers
  • College graduate in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience

What we like:

  • Have at least 2 years of professional system engineering experience
  • Experience automating images builds and deploying containers to Kubernetes
  • Experience supporting large-scale Linux infrastructure across public cloud (AWS, Azure, Google) and private data centers
  • Ability to automate infrastructure through scripting (Python, Terraform, GoLang preferred)
  • Ability to automate deployments using a CI/CD pipeline (GitLab CI preferred)
  • A strong understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting practices and implementations
  • Hands on SQL databaseexperience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate closely with remote team members.
  • Strong diagramming skills with the ability to create diagrams from verbal and/or written descriptions.
