Under general supervision and the software development guidelines and technology standards defined by UOP IT, this critical role will be part of a learning delivery systems development team that creates and manages the core applications focused on student interactions and related outcomes. This role will be involved in the whole application lifecycle from development to production support. This role will contribute to the rollout of critical projects involving phoenix.edu marketing website and Application Center portal development and enhancements.
Having a good understanding of the business function, this position develops, codes, tests and debugs software to enhance existing the effectiveness of the application.
Works with technical staff to understand and analyze moderately complex software problems and develops, writes code, tests and debugs software to resolve issues.
May make suggestions or offer alternative resolutions for software problems or enhancements.
May assist in the development of software user manuals to support the ongoing use and application of the software.
May demonstrate software to others to introduce them to new or enhanced applications.
May provide direction and support to junior developers to orient them and increase their understanding of more complex software development.
Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
May lead or supervise a project. Provides direction and acts as a resource for less experienced developers.
Travel is seldom required.
Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to sit for long periods of time throughout an eight-hour period. Must be able to use a telephone or headset equipment and able to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to move throughout the facility, communicate with others, and detect or exchange information or ideas. The incumbent may be required to perform functions that require the manual operation of general office productivity and equipment. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (List required education and in what area of study and previous work experience, including minimum number of years and type of experience):
• Bachelor's degree in a technology field and two to four (4) years of experience in most phases of IT systems deployments in one or more of the following areas: design and deployment of cloud services, software development, hardware installation, system administration, cyber security or other functional IT area; OR at least six (6) years of prior experience in most phases of IT systems deployment as noted previously
