Seeking engineer with knowledge of electrical interference on pipelines who has experience with advanced modeling software developing mitigation systems that improve safety and reduce the risk of AC Corrosion failure.
Shall support the development of alternating current and direct current interference mitigation solutions by conducting the following and other activities:
*** Modeling pipe and pipeline components, enclosed cable systems, supporting structures, and other simple and complex multi-component conductors buried in diverse geologic formations and soil arrangements.
*** Calculating and analyzing currents and electromagnetic fields generated by shared corridor energized conductors above and below ground for normal, fault, lightning and transient conditions.
*** Analyzing and developing solutions to problems involving grounding, electromagnetic fields, electromagnetic interference, and various aspects of cathodic protection and anode beds.
This position is diverse, challenging and a key member of team involved in: Infrastructure (pipeline, water mains, sewer lines, bridges, dams, etc.) field inspections and sampling; Data collection, organizing and modeling; High voltage transmission analysis and AC & DC Interference Modeling; High Voltage AC Current Interference Mitigation and Cathodic Protection System design; Systems component sourcing; Fabrication and installation; and Systems management and maintenance.
