We are seeking an innovated and engaged individual to fill a role in the Engine Service – Accounting department based in E. Hartford, CT. Engine Services is responsible for management of the long term maintenance contracts within the Commercial Engines aftermarket business. The majority of P&W large commercial engines are covered by some type of long term maintenance contract (Fleet Hour Agreement, Fleet Management Program, Material Management Program, Maintenance Cost Guarantee etc.). The team records $2B in sales and is a large driver of cash, revenue and EBIT for Pratt and Whitney Commercial. These aftermarket agreements are key to our go to market strategy with our customers. The contract analyst will be responsible for the accounting and reporting of our long-term maintenance contracts related to our regional jet portfolio which includes the Embraer’s e-jet family aircrafts, MRJ, Irkut and Airbus A320 aircrafts (formerly Bombardier’s CSeries passenger aircrafts). Most importantly, you will be responsible for developing the accounting process to account for this portfolio while gaining knowledge of the Commercial Aftermarket Business including interaction with UTC, Pratt & Whitney Executives, Managers from Campaigns, Legal, Financial Planning & Analysis, Invoicing, General Accounting and Consolidations, and Collaboration Accounting.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
•Provide accounting guidance related to Aftermarket contracts to Finance and Operations worldwide
•Responsible for review of current and newly executed contracts ensuring accounting conclusion is appropriate
•Support the monthly closing for this portfolio including accounting requirements under the new revenue recognition standard
•Develop accounting and processes for new aftermarket engine programs
•Drive system enhancements for new aftermarket programs and to streamline existing processes

•Work with IT to develop and implement SAP solutions for new NGPF programs
•Work with Campaigns and Legal in the identification and reporting of newly executed Aftermarket Contracts and ensure proper reporting of our Remaining Performance Obligations (RPO)

Bachelor’s in Finance or Accounting required.


Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in Finance or Accounting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Provide accounting and reporting assistance for Commercial Aftermarket implementation of ASC 606 – Revenue from Contracts with Customers.
  • Assist the with ad hoc requests and financial analysis, when required for senior leadership. Exposed To: MS Office products, SAP, HFM and Access knowledge.
