Job DescriptionBAE Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Floor Support Engineer for First shift. In this position, you will be supporting New Product Introduction and Legacy production builds in Austin, Texas. This position will report onsite in support of production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment. The selected candidate will spend most of their time, up to 90%, on the shop floor resolving manufacturing-related issues and providing technical support on a variety of technical tasks supporting circuit card assembly and small to large form factor assembly operations/builds.
This is a first shift position working a 4/10 schedule Mon.-Thursday.This position will be posted for at least 5 calendar days. The posting will remain active until the position is filled, or a qualified pool of candidates is identified.
Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's Degree (Engineering or Technical discipline i.e. mechanical/electrical engineering or engineering technology)
- Atleast 3 years in Manufacturing engineering
- Can work independently with minimal guidance
- Capable of working with current computer applications, CAD programs, and model manipulation
- Ability to solve technical problems that require a professional level of engineering knowledge and manufacturing processes
- Experience working in a team environment
- Experience interfacing with customer (both internal and external)
Preferred Skills and Education- Experience with assembly line operations and circuit card assembly operations
- Hands-on floor support experience, working with shop employees
- Experience in root cause/corrective action- preventive action
- Knowledge of Engineering concepts, practices, drawing standards, procedures, and processes
- Basic knowledge of inspection processes is a plus
- Practice of lean / 6 sigma concepts as applied to manufacturing is a plus
- Knowledge of machining and painting operations a plusl
