POSITION SUMMARY: The EMS Manager will be responsible for leading the work of the EMS Team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Ensure compliance with and conformance to established Hillphoenix safety/hazard program and environmental objectives.
  • Assist in observing and inspecting construction to ensure adherence to specifications and contract documents.
  • Develop, communicate, and monitor programs related to energy efficiency, sustainability, waste management, and environmental impact.
  • Lead the start-up program and the training of others to do a correct start-up.
  • Lead the commissioning program so that we hand over a quality product to the customer.
  • Develop educational material for customers (both internal and external).
  • Train internal associates about operation of systems presently used across the business.
  • Provide energy efficiency advice to customers by evaluating and recommending alternatives to existing systems and processes and then making presentations to the decision makers showing how they can add dollars to their bottom line.
  • Selling, estimating, bidding and managing jobs on the EMS side of the business.
  • Procurement of materials.
  • Complete the weekly management and change order reports and submit them timely.
  • Lead and direct the work of the EMS Team and in partnership with your Manager and Human Resources: Interview & Selection, Performance Evaluations, Recommend Discipline, etc.
  • Follow and enforce all company policies, procedures, rules, regulations and guidelines.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25% - 75%.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
  • Fundamental knowledge of engineering design for HVAC/EMS and refrigeration systems.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have the ability to take on multiple projects with great project management skills in a team environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Strong written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or equivalent, preferred.
  • 8-10+ years of experience in HVAC and supermarket refrigeration with focus in both construction and service departments.
  • RSES Certification (Refrigeration Service Engineers Society), preferred.
