Position Overview

The Portland Employment Tax Senior Analyst will report to Global Employment Tax Manager based in Dublin, Ireland. The role will carry out the team's assigned payroll / employment tax compliance tasks and responsibilities. This role will work with the respective business partners (geo payroll, GSPS, mobility, HR, tax, accounting and others). In addition to strong execution of tax processes, this role will be able to research and model employment tax analyses. He/she will work on process improvements, process documentation and training team members on such processes.

This job requires execution of the below responsibilities with ownership and accountability. The ability to be flexible and to grow as a global tax professional is critical to the success of this person. This includes keeping an open mind to innovative ways, to challenge status quo in order to seek continuous improvement. There needs to be effective collaboration with other functions throughout the organization.

This role will require strong excel, organizational and communication skills, intellectual curiosity, continuous learning and outcome accountability. The Autodesk Payroll department is seeking a candidate who will help drive a culture of accountability and excitement within the team.


  • A successful candidate will be expected to:
  • Assist in leading the payroll team's payroll tax compliance education program
  • Have a good understanding of payroll and employment tax compliance
  • Be able to prepare payroll tax cost calculations as required
  • Assist in implementing processes and preparing documentation to ensure Autodesk payroll is processing compensation correctly
  • Assist in resolving issues related to payroll/employment tax
  • Assist with payroll tax and social security audits
  • Be able to perform basic tax research
  • Act as a payroll tax advisor to the business
  • Other special projects as they arise

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting and/or Law degree
  • At least 5 years of work experience in employment tax
  • Experience with multinational companies a must, technology industry a plus
  • Big 4 experience a plus
