Job Summary In support of Sandia's mission areas, the Division 8000 Talent Acquisition and Learning and Development team specializes in the following; recruiting and staffing open positions for Division 8000, managing the Student Intern program for CA site, administering the Foreign National Hiring program and immigration processes for the laboratory, delivering training for Division 8000 to meet employee and program needs.
Works closely with the recruiters, staffing partners, and hiring managers to understand hiring needs for specific job postings across a broad spectrum of disciplines.
Uses available technology and online resources such as LinkedIn, Indeed.com, IEEE, and other niche skills sites and general internet Boolean search methodologies to identify and source applicants for hard to fill job openings.
Screens resumes of applicants meeting minimum job requirements in Sandia’s Applicant Tracking System and ascertains the competence of candidates.
Coordinates, schedules, and conducts phone screens to assess candidate qualifications for specific job openings.
Evaluates factors such as job experience, education, training, skills, knowledge, abilities, and other data pertinent to classification, selection, and referral.
Presents qualified candidates to hiring managers to consider for interviews.
Checks references, provides applicants with information about Sandia, and works with outside agencies and vendors.
Ensures search efforts reach a diverse spectrum of candidates, with results that reflect labor market availability for ethnicity and gender within EEO job categories.
Develops and maintains a pipeline of passive candidates.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability
Awareness and knowledge of relevant federal and state Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action (AA), and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) laws, regulations, and executive orders.
Knowledge of human resources theories, principles, and practices and understanding of staffing and recruiting.
Knowledge of current industry best practices for recruiting and sourcing a diverse workforce.
Ability to coordinate hiring efforts within a business unit.
Ability to develop and lead teams and successfully execute assigned projects within scheduled scope and costs.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to interface effectively and professionally with internal and external customer groups.
Ability to apply specialized knowledge to assignments.
Strong analytical skills and proven competence in resolving staffing issues.
Ability to work effectively on a high volume of positions while managing multiple priorities.
Minimum Qualifications (Required)
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline plus five or more years of experience, or equivalent:
experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills and
ability to perform the duties of the job.
Experienced recruiting for technical positions, specifically mechanical and electrical engineers.
