• Handle complex and sensitive employee concerns and investigations, including interpersonal conflict in the workplace, terminations, employee complaints, ethics reports, and allegations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation
• Act as an advisor for highly complex cases where additional considerations need to be made and to provide those recommendations that mitigate risk
• Leads team of ER Specialists and develops consistent ways to manage cases and/or investigation plans across the team. Ensures team conducts investigations appropriately, and they gather evidence and facts required for conducting a proper assessment of the case. Researches and recommends action(s) to appropriately resolve cases and ensures that findings are documented in internal case management system consistently. Working knowledge of current employee relations cases
• Strong and practical ability to identify and address employee relations issues providing advice and guidance to HR and business leaders for issues, such as policy/practice interpretation, performance management, disability management, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, or other issues representing a significant risk to the organization
• Ability to develop and conduct EEO training to the business under the direction of our Employee Relations Director
• Provide quarterly/ad hoc reporting
• Oversee HR-related cases under the Corporate Compliance line, facilitate investigations with HR business partners
• Consults with HR business partners and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach
• Special projects as they are assigned

• 10+ years’ experience in Employee Relations, including a primary focus on Employee Relations rather than general HR
• ER Management experience in a large, complex, fast-paced, high volume environment
• Experience as a Supervisor, Team Lead or Manager
• Expert knowledge of federal and state employment regulations across the United States (Canada and Mexico a plus)
• Employee Relations experience including both Staff and Craft labor, Union and Non-Union preferred
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, sometimes with short notice
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required
• Strong writing skills
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, inclusive of PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when working with sensitive data
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders
• Solid investigative and analytical skills sufficient to resolve problems and employee concerns
• Strong research skills
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other job site policies
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, managing a variety of tasks simultaneously with efficiency, a large and diversified workload, and challenging situations
• Ability to work normal working hours at their designated work location, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively
• Ability to present in front of a group
• Ability to work productively and meet deadlines timely
