LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia is seeking an Emergency Medicine Assistant Program Director to assist in the development and implementation of a new Emergency Medicine Residency Program. 

Job Responsibilities: 

? Clinical teaching and supervision of residents 

o Dedicate time to administrative and educational activities of the program 

o Assign clinical responsibilities to residents, supervise in clinical assignments 

o Assist Program Director with developing and maintain written supervision standards, requirements, and procedures 

? Core program clinical teaching 

o Maintain active clinical practice in emergency medicine 

o Organize rotations and othereducational activities at all clinical sites that participate in the program. 

o Supervise all educational tracks in the program 

o Establish clinical assignments and schedule residents to achieve the education objectives of the program 

? General Administration 

o In conjunction with Program Director and Faculty, responsible for preparation and implementation of curriculum 

o Submit reports on program, faculty, Resident performance to the GMEC 

? GME Committees/Meetings 

o Attend educational programs sponsored by the Associate of Program Directors 

o May participate on the Consortium Graduate Medical Education Committee, and with hospital committees as requested by the GME Director/DIO 

Qualifications: 

? Must be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine 

? Clinical facultyexperiencepreferred 

? Be willing to combine administrative and teaching responsibilities 

? Have strong administrative and team-building skills 

? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
