Job Description Qualifications Experience requested Overview: The Core Connectivity team is seeking a motivated, embedded Linux and Wi-Fi software architect/developer with excellent communication and problem solving skills. You will join a team responsible for developing future connectivity platforms. We are developing cutting edge infotainment products for the next generation of automobiles.


Core Responsibilities:

? Port ConnMan and WiFiManager to Premium Telematics Platform on top of Qualcomm-Atheros device driver for AR6003 chip and Open Source packages.

? Develop or enhance Wi-Fi requirements, architecture and design specifications as needed for Premium Telematic Platform.

? Develop enhancements to and perform debugging of Wi-Fi open source and proprietary software adhering to IEEE 802.11 a/b/c/n and related standards running on embedded Linux prototype hardware using Freescale and/or Qualcomm 9x15 processors.


Additional Responsibilities:? Analyze customer Wi-Fi hardware and software requirements for feasibility.

? Enhance Wi-Fi software requirements, architecture and designs,

? Integrate needed Wi-Fi proprietary software and open source software modules including testing, debugging and identifying fixes for defects.

? Develop new features and enhancement to proprietary Wi-Fi software including testing, debugging and identifying fixes for defects.

? Use approved software development tools and adhere to approved Continental software processes.


Required Qualifications:

?Bachelor?s degree in ElectricalEngineering or Computer Science required.

? Embedded C/C++ development and debugging on prototype hardware. 5+ years.

? Hands on experience designing, developing and debugging Wi-Fi software using Linux open source (OSS) and proprietary software. 4years.

?Experience designing, developing and debugging Wi-Fi client/access point and Wi-Fi Direct solutions including IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n and related IEEE standards. 4years.

? Knowledge and expertise with IP routing and firewall configuration.

? Embedded Linux development and debugging on prototype hardware using Freescale or comparable ARM processors (e.g., iMX6x microprocessors). 3years.

? Effective working knowledge of dBus methods and signals. 2years.

?3 to 5years of practical experience in at least 1 embedded Linux distribution is needed (Commercial ? Monta Vista Linux, Wind River Linux, or Open Source ? OpenEmbedded). ? Hands on experience with Linux kernel versions 3.xx. 3years.

? Hands on experience with Secure Digital Input Output (SDIO). 1year.

? Ability and willingness to work within team structure including local and overseas development teams. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

? Display a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.

?Experience with git/gerrit. 1year.



Preferred Qualifications:?MS in EE, Computer Science or equivalent. ? Hands on and working knowledge of modeling using Rhapsody or equivalent sysML/UML tools. Working knowledge of DOORS, Change/CM Synergy and Doxygen. ? Hands on experience with either Marvell, Broadcom, Qualcomm or CSR?s Wi-Fi chips and host software and expertise in 802.11ac. ? Hands-on experience in configuring and building Linux distributions. ?Experience with Qualcomm 9x15 and Freescale Boards Support Packages for iMX processors. ? Hands-on experience with protocols including: DHCP, PPP, TCP/IP / TCP/IP socket programming.=
