Testing, testing. We’re seeking a talented software engineer to create and execute test suites for small sets of new functionality, ensuring adherence to defined software verification and testing processes. Must be able to capture, document and suggest refinements to system and software requirements. May serve as a focal for software testing for derivative products. We are looking for a full-time Embedded Test Software Engineer to for our headquarters in Yarmouth, Maine. In this role you will be responsible for collaborating and adding value through participation in peer test reviews by providing comments and suggestions and communicating shared changes across teams. Other essential functions include:

  • Follows defined software verification and testing processes

  • Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques

  • Performs technical root cause analysis and outlines corrective action for given problems

  • Works collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates in cross functional teams to achieve goals

  • Apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing solutions in a timely fashion

  • Applies Garmin’s Mission, Vision, Values and Quality Policy and enthusiastically exhibits a desire to see Garmin succeed

Qualifications

Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, or Physics from a four-year college or university AND a minimum of 1-year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Other requirements include:

  • Demonstrates mastery of relevant software testing tools and methodologies (e.g. configuration management systems, debuggers, simulators, testing tools)
  • Must demonstrate proficient ability to capture and document refinements to system and software requirements
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others

Previous experience working in a team environment and a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher is highly preferred!
