Embedded Software Engineer, Tools and Automation at Nuro in Mountain View, CA

Our robotics team is growing and we are looking for a self-motivated software engineer to help assure the quality of the hardware components of Nuro’s robots.

About the Work

• Develop and own in-house software tools to support tests and diagnostics
• Work with the stakeholders of electrical and mechanical modules, e.g. brake, power, optical sensors, to align requirements, build and automate module level and vehicle tests including stress tests
• Develop, automate and maintain software test setup

About You

• Good experience with automated test and framework development, execution and maintenance
• Excellent understanding and application of scripting language, such as Python
• Good experience with C++
• Experience with client/server programming
• Good debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field

Bonus Points

• Experience with database applications
• Experience with manufacturing environments and MES (manufacturing data systems)
• System-level knowledge of software and hardware
