Embedded Software Engineer (Android) at Insight Global in Clearwater, FL

A client of Insight Global is looking for an Embedded Application Software Engineer to provide new development, maintenance and enhancement of their embedded software for assistive technology hardware products. This candidate will need to have a thorough understanding of Object Oriented design principles to programs written in C++ and Java predominately for mobile applications based on Android and Embedded Windows platforms.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering

Experience as a Team Lead

Image processing experience

Hands on experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Design (OOD) as well as a thorough understanding of the concepts

3-5 years of experience as a Mid-Level Software Engineer

3-5 years of experience programming with the following languages: JAVA and C++

At least 1 year of hands-on Android mobile application programming and development

Strong debugging skills (specific exposure to debugging real-time systems)

Understanding, writing and debugging code in a highly multi-threaded application

Android programming experience with knowledge of JNI

Ability to learn and efficiently utilize new programming languages quickly

Desired Skills

GLSL and/or assembly language
