Job Description
Training & Professional Services (T&PS) within Boeing Global Services (BGS) Environments and Control Systems (ECS) team is looking for a Software Engineer to take part in development of combatthreat synthetic environment servers for use in flight simulators. Wesupport domestic andinternational customers in training for combat inthreat and signal rich environments. Real world physics are used to modelthreats including aircraft, ground based, and sea based platforms. Additionally, communicationsnetworks and other environmental conditions are simulated. The resulting tools are utilized byexperiencedinstructors to create realistic and high fidelity training scenarios to simulate real-world combat scenarios in order to maintain mission readiness and train the next generation of fighterpilot.As a member of the synthetic environment team you will work in a large Scaled Agile™ environment to develop system level solutions with the Instructor/Operator Station teams, which produce tools that directly interface and help to seamlessly tie together the flight simulator as a whole.

  • The ability to perform research utilizing unclassified and classified sources to gather as much data as possible about individual and unique weapons systems/platforms, radars, sensors, equipment, tactics, and use cases
  • The ability to take often sparse and incomplete data, and extrapolate, based upon logical reasoning and engineering judgment, to fill in unknowns in regards to parameters and behaviors
  • The ability to understand, through existing knowledge or academic research, the real world physical implications of certain parameters associated with an entity
  • Knowledge,experience, understanding, or interest in:The ability to make reasonable assumptions based on the available data, despite possibly having vague or non-existent requirements
    • Aircraft and missile dynamics
    • RADAR theory
    • Real world weapons systems and platforms
    • Military tactics
    • Entity behavioral algorithm development/refinement
    • IR signature
    • Simulated physics
    • Mathematics and dynamic system modeling

Knowledge of synthetic threat environments in any variant form would be considered a plus. This candidate will assist other members of the development team in the performance of day-to-day operations in a fast-paced agile development environment. Qualifications
This position requires an active Secret Level U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)   Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.   Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)

  • Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 1 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
  • Current active Secret security clearance.
