An Electronics Design Engineer job opportunity in Jacksonville, FL is currently available through Belcan at one of our key space industry clients. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor"s degree in Engineering or Physics and three to five years of Electrical or Electronic Engineering experience. In this role you will interpret electrical design requirements, develop supporting electrical system architectures, and bring circuitry to flight readiness overseeing the complete development cycle. By applying standard aerospace principles and practices, you will create original circuit designs, schematics, layouts, and interface and harnessing drawings.

Summary of Role

You will have end-to-end responsibility for boards, from schematic capture through parts selection, analysis, test, and troubleshooting doing the following:

* Work with mechanical and avionics leads to find the simplest, most effective solutions for new products

* Perform de-rating and worst-case analysis, and FMEA

* Perform prototype testing and hands-on solder rework as needed

* Design for tolerance to environmental extremes including vibration, shock, high and low temperatures, vacuum, and radiation

* Design efficient, effective, board test equipment including for high-energy particle accelerators and thermal vacuum chambers

* Design in compliance with IPC guidelines and space avionics best practices

* Mentor an engineering intern

Basic Qualifications

* B.A. or B.S. in engineering or physics, Electrical Engineering degree or 3 years additional professional-level Electrical Engineering experience

* Minimum 2 years experience designing analog, digital, and (low) power microcontrollers and/or FPGA's

* High productivity with schematic capture and board layout (Eagle preferred)

* Relevant knowledge areas preferred:

* Embedded software

* Flex circuits

* Test scripting and automation

* Circuit simulation

* High-reliability applications
