Job Description
Senior Principal Engineer / High Speed Converter
We are a passionate and dedicated team of world-class analog, mixed-signal and digital designers committed to building the next generation of ASoCs. This position is for an experienced and equally passionate analog and mix-signal designer/leader interested in excellent personal and professional growth opportunities.
Your role:
You will lead all aspects of the design, from concept to architecture, modeling, simulation, and implementation of high speed converters and RF transceivers to be included on sub-45nm CMOS SOCs. Working with digital and firmware architects, you will optimize analog and RF block specifications to meet product requirements for radio performance, power consumption, and system features. You will model and simulate the blocks and develop pre- and post-silicon verification suites. You will work with circuit designers to verify their blocks, leading to mixed-signal simulations of the entire transceiver.
This is a technical leadership position and requires an individual skilled in making architectural and circuit implementation decisions
You will interface with other engineering teams within the business unit, including your digital design counterpart for SOCs, verification, layout, validation and production test.
Flawless execution, with a sense of urgency is key, but also to be an “out of the box” thinker, to find innovative solutions to our customer’s problems
Your profile:
Proven track record of exceptional performance in RF, high speed converter, analog and mixed-signal system and circuit design
15+ years (BSEE), 12+ years (MSEE) or 8+ years (Phd) of relevant industry experience
Solid foundation in RF methodology and transceiver architectures, including for Bluetooth and WiFi
Strong awareness of competing solutions and commercial challenges
Experience in system-level modeling and simulation in Matlab, VerilogA, Virtuoso AMS, ADS, etc.
Experienced in producing detailed technical specifications, reports and documentation
Experience in CMOS RF design at 2.4 and 5GHz, including LNAs, PAs, frequency synthesizers
Experience in data converters, especially continuous-time delta-sigma modulators (CTDSMs)
Competent in the Cadence design environment, laboratory methodologies and analog layout methodologies
Professional, open and highly self-motivated attitude
Experience in mentoring and talent development
Ideally you are also experienced in:
Hands-on design in sub-45nm CMOS
Low-power circuit architectures and methodologies
Analog verification methodologies
