Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive commissioning schedule from the base line CPM for all EI&C systems start-ups and commissioning activities.
  • Review Contract Documents, making suggestions/modifications as they relate to the EI&C commissioning.
  • Act as McCarthy liaison with Owner’s commissioning agent, owner, and EI&C subcontractors throughout duration of the project to ensure EI&C systems are commissioned correctly and on schedule. (from construction through Commissioning and Turnover to Owner including warranty follow-up)
  • Assist Scheduling department with developing detailed CPM schedules for all EI&C start-up, test & balance, BMS controls, commissioning and related activities, including cost and resource loading.
  • Manage the subcontracts for the BMS controls and Test and Balance trades as well as assisting with commissioning related coordination with other trades.
  • Work with Superintendents on project logistics and temporary facility requirements for your assigned subcontractors.
  • Review and approve material and equipment for EI&C systems prior to installation
  • Monitor the installation and start-up of EI&C systems and commissioning with Engineer, Commissioning Agent, Inspectors, & Owner’s representatives.
  • Coordinate activities, materials procurement and other related activities with Project Manager and Field Staff
  • Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed by Project Manager, Project Director, Owner’s Rep, Architect, etc.
  • Represent McCarthy in regards to the EI&C process at weekly Owner’s meetings
  • Supervise, develop and mentor EI&C Project Engineers, if applicable
  • Vendor equipment controls coordination and submittal review. Oversee the manufacturer’s installation and operation verifications
  • Overall plant controls review, coordination, and system start-up / checkout
  • Treatment plant process systems verification and performance testing

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Construction/EI&C Coordination
  • Thorough knowledge of all mechanical, electrical plumbing, medium and low-voltage systems
  • General understanding of Building Codes, , Electrical Codes and as they relate to construction of project
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management or Engineering a plus
  • General knowledge of construction principles/practices required
  • Experienced dealing with EI&C subcontracts and subcontractors
  • Water / Wastewater Treatment Plant experiencerequired.
