  • B.S. degree in related engineering field
  • Minimum of 10+ years related engineering experience
  • Able to demonstrate a comprehensive working knowledge of regulatory and applicable airworthiness requirements including Mil-hdbk-516 and/or Part 25 requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of aircraft modification programs with a high level of attention to detail and capability of reviewing design packages with a high emphasis on electrical systems
  • Strong understanding of aircraft power distribution systems
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and show flexibility to changing situations / demands
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management, customers, and individual contributors
  • Technical focus electrical engineering and avionics
  • Experience in design and certification of aircraft systems design, and modification
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance


  • Experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks, or similar
  • Experience in integration, and/or verification and validation
  • Understanding commercial and military mission systems: Communication systems (i.e. voice, data, transponders, LOS, BLOS, etc.)
  • Integrate mission equipment, computer equipment and networks, and user/crew interfaces

Electrical Engineer Sr Summary

Our client is looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the design and certification of aircraft systems design, and modification. The candidate will support the electrical and avionics engineering team. Assist the Systems Engineer with requirements definition, interface definition, and validation and verification. The candidate will support concept of operations definition, component selection, and integration. Collaborates and drives requirements to other functional groups. Provides status and supports the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks. Provide/support documentation for major engineering gate reviews. Help resolve technical systems engineering and integration issues. Candidate must be able to manage time and resources in order to meet assigned deadlines.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • To be a technical focal for electrical engineering and avionics
  • Detailed design and analysis of electrical systems and components including on-board transmitters, receivers, sensors, actuators, power distribution, data conversion, displays, recorders and interconnects, as well as external system control electronics, HMI interfaces and power supplies
  • Collaboration with other engineers and subject matter experts on system level details including assembly and sub-assembly requirements, power and thermal requirements, control system requirements, electrical routing and connectivity, and grounding & shielding
  • Component selection and procurement
  • Hands-on integration and testing of hardware
  • Support production build activities by providing on-site liaison engineering support
  • Develop substantiation documentation in order to demonstrate compliance with relevant electrical and avionic related airworthiness requirements including:
  • Design Drawings
  • Test plans and reports
  • Compliance Statements
  • Analysis documents
  • Compliance checklists
  • Certification programs
  • Other responsibilities may include new business development, IR&D projects, and customer interface
  • Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours
  • Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all the Company's Policies, Procedures, and Compliance regulations (internal and external)
  • Responsible for timely execution of all personnel-related activities such as Time Sheet completion, Performance Evaluations, Salary Reviews, Succession Planning, etc.
  • Responsible for leadership oversight and for ensuring Department/Team training
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, as defined by management
  • Other duties as assigned
