Lead design of petroleum refinery plant equipment Power Controls for the manufacture of high value light products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and other specialty chemicals.
*** Define project, determine objectives, select technical strategies, and provide technical assistance to business units.
*** Design Controls & Power Distribution processes for crude & refined product movements via pipeline, terminals, and tankage.
*** Write specifications, develop schedules & budgets, and identify & develop designs of additions and improvement to existing process systems.
***Support and collaborate on effective arrangement of operations, such as mixing, crushing, heat transfer, distillation, oxidation, hydrogenation, and polymerization.
*** Provide start up assistance for existing and new facilities.
*** Develop and implement high and medium voltage power controls.
*** Monitor performance, take corrective actions, update operating procedures, negotiate for materials, supplies & services, and generate reports.
*** Conduct research to develop new and improved control processes.
***Investigate and resolve work in process problems.
*** Troubleshoot and optimize Power Control for refinery pipeline and terminal operations.
*** Conduct operational analysis for management.
*** Recommend and implement improvements and modification in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters.
*** Perform economic analyses and fill Return on Investments & Authorization for Expenditure reports for capital upgrades.
*** Analyze project economics and calculate Return on Investment for proposed projects.
*** Oversee personnel engaged in construction, operation, and optimization of equipment utilized in chemical processes on a commercial scale.
*** Review proposals of outside vendors regarding purchase of new or modernization of existing processing equipment.
*** Mentor junior engineers.
