Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project plan, including cost, schedule, and resources to satisfy project goals, including project milestones, cost targets, and product quality.
  • Define, track, and communicate key project metrics and milestones, includes facilitation of project and design reviews and participation in engineering & certification staff reviews.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks; responsible for elevating critical business decisions to appropriate management.
  • Establish and direct activities of contractengineering and design partners.
  • Foster alignment, accountability, and collaborative way of working across large team comprised of internal cross-functional partners and othercontracted resources and subject matter experts.
  • Escalate effectively to program, functional, and contracted partner management to achieve project goals.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge and adherence to the Quality System and processes used for the creation and continued compliance of company products and devices.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, Operations, Regulatory, Marketing, and Finance groups to prioritize and establish sustaining engineering processes required of a new product.
  • Serve as lead systems and electrical engineer for technology application and new product development.
  • Organize, prepare, and present technical information in a clear, effective, and skillful manner to cross functional team, management, and marketing.
  • Oversee design, analysis, testing, and documentation of system and component-level solutions to ensure consistency to internal and external certification and manufacturability requirements.
  • Identify, communicate, and manage technical risk.
  • Coordinate the interface between engineering and certification engineering.
  • Working with certification engineering, obtain FAA data approval of applicable drawings and reports that demonstrate compliance with the Code of Federal (Aviation) Regulations in Parts 23, 25, 26, 27, 29 & 31.
  • Assure all relevant data is FAA approved for obtaining STC.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, including weeks' long deployments overseas.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • BS Degree in ElectricalEngineering or related scientific field, or equivalent combination of experience and coursework.
  • Full life cycle: Requirements, design, implementation, test, qualification/verification, production roll out 
  • IFE electrialexperiencerequired
  • Leading engineering sub-contractor product specifications development, vendor selection, management and review. 
  • Experience utilizing AutoCad or comparable program.
  • Must possess knowledge of engineering principles used in Electrical Design.
  • Must be able to work on complex design tasks with assistance.
