Primary Responsibilities: CTC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support Department of Defense clients across the installation energy resiliency, utility equipment asset inventory, and utility privatization portfolios. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of electric utility systems, and can utilize risk analysis and management tools. To be successful, the candidate should be self-motivated and a quick learner with strong analytical, research and both written and spoken communication skills. Some travel may be required.

The individual will support the analysis of infrastructure networks and systems. This includes supporting the identification of system enhancements that can successfully deliver capabilities, even when under physical (natural or man-made) or cyberspace attack. Tasks will include collecting, processing, and managing mission and installation electric utility data, electrical equipment inventory, model formulation, stakeholder engagement, and coordinating with team members to conduct in-depth mission resilience analyses. The individual will be responsible for communicating processes and results to various audiences to get stakeholder buy-in, collect data, inform decision makers, and train users.

The individual selected will have a proven track record as an experience Electrical Engineer. The individual should have good project multi-tasking skills and be able to work efficiently under minimal supervision. The individual should have strong networking skills and work well in groups, previous work in government or investor owned utility is a plus.

Basic Qualification:

  • BS in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or related field plus 5 years directly related experience
  • At least 2 or more years with DoD mechanical engineering project experience
  • Familiar with Utility, Wastewater, and Power Distribution systems
  • Working knowledge of the latest NFPA 70E, UFC's, UFGS, NESC, NEC, and IEEE Codes and Standards
  • Willingness and ability to set priorities and deliver under tight deadlines in a heavy workload setting
  • Ability to work in teams and establish and maintain cross-functional and working relationships
  • Capability to independently initiate and manage tasks, with a high degree of detail and process orientation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5 years of experience in power systems analysis and modeling
  • Knowledge of operations of electricity generation, transmission and distribution systems
  • Familiarity with Net metering and smart grid systems
