Exponent’s Vehicle Engineering Practice is currently looking to hire an Electrical/Electronic Engineer at the Associate level in our Phoenix, AZ office. This individual will work effectively within a team of engineers and technicians to solve complex problems through effective communications and through use of a structured problem-solving methodology. This individual will also be required to manage projects to promote client satisfaction. Qualifications for this position include:
Ph.D. or M.S. in Electrical, Systems Engineering with a focus on electronic systems integration and power electronics
Demonstrate a clear understanding of vehicle electrical systems, safety and controls systems
Direct experience in the design and production of electronic control systems and measurement systems (minimum of graduate-level research)
Familiar with common manufacturing processes and packaging of electronic circuit boards used in the automotive industry. Knowledge of soldering processes is a plus.
Ability to work both independently and in multidisciplinary teams
Consulting experience during education or within a company during an internship
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to filter through complex problems and/or information in order to conduct a root cause analysis
Must have the ability to demonstrate engineering curiosity, creativity and apply critical thinking to problem solving
Strong practical engineering ability combined with leadership and project management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for working internally with a team of engineers, as well as with outside clients
