Electrical Design Engineer

As the Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for design, development and maintenance of embedded systems for both hardware and firmware. Specifically, we will rely on you to design and develop embedded systems for IOT applications such as acquiring data from various types of sensors, transferring data to microprocessors through various industrial communication protocols, processing data and transferring data to servers via different wireless communication protocols. This role includes full life cycle of development from requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing and training.


  • Develop proprietary embedded systems for use in industrial environments
  • Design, develop, and modify circuit boards (PCB) for use in industrial environments
  • Develop new firmware for embedded systems and IOT applications
  • Expand upon and maintain existing hardware designs and firmware architecture
  • Modify and write firmware for ARM processor
  • Debug firmware and PCB design
  • Modify and embed sensors into the company's electrical systems
  • Utilize various protocols such as CAN-J1939, RS485, and RS232 to establish robust data communication lines
  • Establish wireless communication between the company's embedded systems and servers via cellular networks and Wi-Fi
  • Maintain hardware/firmware design documentation
  • Write and review equipment manuals and installation procedures
  • Prepare CAD drawings and technical specifications that are in compliance with electrical codes, industry standards, and project standards


  • Electrical engineering degree
  • 3+ years of experience in hardware oriented firmware design and development
  • 3+ years of experience in PCB design and development
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and debugging embedded firmware in C
  • Experience in debugging embedded systems using various test equipment
  • Proven experience in CAN-J1939 protocol
  • Experience with Atmel ARM microcontrollers
  • Demonstrated knowledge of I2C, SPI, UART, RS485, and RS232 communications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical codes and standards
  • Demonstrated ability in developing embedded systems with Wi-Fi and Cellular modules
  • Experience in analog and digital signal processing
