Columbus, Ohio area Major Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer is seeking an Electrical Controls Systems Development Engineer for Airbag & Occupant Detection. This is an outstanding early career opportunity for an enthusiastic team player! Responsibilities will be focused around the development of Safety Control Systems, including SRS Airbag ECU, Seat Weight Sensor, Seatbelt, and Pedestrian Protection systems. The primary responsibilities involve developing the functional requirements related to CAN interface, Self-Diagnostic, and Failsafe Detection for each vehicle development, working with the system supplier to integrate these functions into the vehicle, as well as verification of the functions. Roles include project management activities, overseeing the testing of the related vehicle systems, negotiating the hardware and software interfaces to integrate the system into the vehicle, instrumenting and troubleshooting vehicles for testing, analyzing test data, and recommending solutions for test failures. Must have a Bachelor?s degree in ElectricalEngineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering and a minimum of one year of experience in an automotive environment. Some travel domestically and internationally should be expected to visit various proving grounds, visit suppliers?engineering offices and production locations and support Honda factories during pre-production launch timings.
