Electrical/Controls/Low Voltage Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand Contract Documents (Specifications, Drawings, Contracts)
  • Manage and lead Electrical and Controls subcontractors throughout duration of the Project (from Groundbreaking through Commissioning and Turnover to Owner)
  • Monitor the installation and start-up of Electrical, Controls and Low Voltage systems, including commissioning of Project with Engineer & Owner
  • Assist Scheduling department with developing and maintaining a detailed CPM schedules for all Electrical and Low Voltage installation activities, including cost and resource loading
  • Coordinate activities, materials procurement and other related activities with Project Manager and Field Staff
  • Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed by Project Manager, Project Director, etc
  • Review and approve material and equipment for Electrical and Low Voltage systems prior to installation
  • Supervise, develop and mentor MEP Project Engineers, if applicable 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in large commercial construction, Healthcareconstruction a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of all electrical, controls and low-voltage systems such as IT, Security, Nurse Call, IPTV, A/V, Fire Alarm, etc.
  • Experienced dealing with Electrical, Controls and Low Voltage subcontracts and subcontractors
  • General understanding of Building Codes and Electrical Codes as they relate to construction of project
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management or Engineering a plus
  • General knowledge of construction principles/practices required
