POSITION:  Electrical/Controls Design Engineer


Development and design of electrical engineering drawings including overall one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, metering and relaying one-line diagrams, Electrical Layouts and electrical schematics for Substation, Electrical distributionnetwork & gas-fired combined cycle power facilities; performing and providing quality checks for system studies including load flow, short circuit, motor starting, relay coordination, and arc-flash hazard analysis utilizing ETAP versions 12.5 and 14.

Performing various electrical sizing calculations such as transformer sizing, CT/PT sizing, Grounding design calculations, cable sizing studies utilizing NEC, IEC, IEEE standards; and quality check of Electrical Equipment specification; Coordinate vendor meetings, Interdisciplinary coordination, client review meetings; Conversant with  Electrical design software AutoCAD, Micro station will be added advantage. 


Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.  5 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer or Designer, or related.  Five years’ post bachelor’s experience is required and must include:  Designing & engineering of 132kV and 115kV substation & distributionnetwork and Industrial plant design (FMCG Plant); performing quality checks for 2X1 and 1X1 combined cycle power plant Relay one line, system studies including load flow, short circuit & arc-flash hazard analysis utilizing ETAP; preparation of One line/three line diagram, Electrical Layouts, Control schematics,

Hazardous Area Classification drawing, Bill of quantity and Equipment specification; performing various electrical sizing calculations such as transformer sizing, CT/PT sizing, cable sizing, conduit/cable tray sizing, lighting calculation, lightning, Grounding design calculations; leading and developing team of Engineers for engineering design solution; coordinating vendor meetings, Interdisciplinary coordination, and client review meetings; and electrical standards – NEC, ANSI, IEC, IEEE and IS.  Travel required up to 20% of the time.
