Electrical Automation Project Engineer ? Primary Metals Foundry - Responsible for implementing, improving, and maintaining Level 2 Process Automation services for manufacturing operations. Design, implement and test changes to software, databases, servers and HMI systems.Manage assigned automation projects in a manufacturing environment.Ensure and optimize availability, performance, and quality of automation systems.Functional relations include: Shop floor operating and maintenance personnel; Operations and maintenance managers; Process Automation staff, contractors, and management; Other staff department, personnel including IT, Accounting, Research, Engineering

Employees in this position are required to have knowledge in Programming, Computer Systems Administration, Process Control, or specialized field built on an understanding of the theoretical concepts and principles.

BachelorElectrical Engineering degree - Advanced Degree or Certifications a plus. 3-5years of experience in programming in a variety of higher level languages, including C, C#, .NET, Java, C++, etc. MUST HAVE HEAVY INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE (STEEL, PRIMARY METALS, INDUSTRIAL CHEMICALS, PULP & PAPER. Experience with DBMSdatabase administration and/or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). Level 2 supervisory process control or process automation experience in heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in steel manufacturing. Experience with process modeling. Experience with Windows systems and development. Project management training and/or experience. Knowledge of direct control systems such as PLC, DCS, and hybrid systems. Position requires approximately 50%-70% programming including a variety of programming languages and database management systems. It also requires approximately 20%-40% hands-on work with computers, networking, video systems, etc. Other requirements include administrative and documentation work. Understand how to display and report process information to manufacturing operators and management. And they will understand how to translate engineering equations into software algorithms. Desire a working knowledge of steel/primary metals making and shaping and will understand effects of software and computer systems on high value manufacturing processes and equipment.
