Implements and monitors Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs. Ensures compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Responsible for the day-to-day operations, including receiving, shipping and disposal of hazardous material (biological, chemical, radioactive or other) and samples; conducts surveys and inspections. In coordination with program manager, develops and conducts training programs. Maintains documentation pertaining to the use and disposal of biological, chemical or radioactive materials. May hire, supervise and evaluate staff. Performs related responsibilities as required.
- Bachelors plus 5 years experience in environmental engineering, public health, occupational health and safety or other appropriate science-related field of study (i.e. chemistry) is required.
- Professional Board Certification desired. Examples include: CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), CHP (Certified Health Physicist), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), BSP (Biosafety Professional), CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), PE (Professional Engineer), etc.
- Equivalent combination of experience, education and training is accepted.
