The Role:

The EHS Manager – Energy Products is responsible for managing complex technical work in a wide range of EHS disciplines. By collaboratively working with their sites and maintaining pragmatic processes, the EHS Manager will effectively manage the risk and associated workplace hazards to our associates, community, and the environment throughout our regions within Energy Products Sales and Operations teams in North America. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, able to work independently or manage a team of Healt & Safety Specialists, is self-driven and works well within cross-functional team environments.  The ideal candidate also takes pride in his/her analytical abilities, organization skills and attention to detail.  He/she appreciates a setting where superior work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded.  This position has management responsibility over a region and will require up to 40% travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and support the development and implementation of EHS management systems with regional supervisors, managers, directors and vice presidents
  • Lead a team of regionally based EHS specialists
  • Establish EHS performance goals, ensure the tracking and reporting of EHS metrics, and measure performance against key performance indicators
  • Direct the implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs necessary to foster a strong EHS culture
  • Identify EHS training requirements and coordinate sessions in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Lead accident investigation and communication process including the identification of root causes
  • Manage policies for adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with business partners to support safe work procedures in facilities and all remote work areas throughout the region
  • Responsible for environmental permitting (air, water, waste, refrigerants etc.), compliance monitoring, and reporting
  • Analyze data and reports trends and recommend/support plans for corrective action

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6years of experienceworking with EHS compliance and management systems, preferably within facility and field-based and remote operations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, occupational safety and health, or environmental science or related field of study
  • Master's degree and/or a professional certification (ex: CSP, ASP, CHST, CPE, CIH, Etc.) preferred
  • Strong understanding of OSHA Regulatory/Reporting Guidelines
  • Superior knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA and EPA
  • Practical, hands-on experience developing and implementing program elements, including fall protection safety, electrical safety, mobile/remote fleet safety, compliance initiatives, risk assessment, root cause analysis, and employee engagement
  • Experience dealing with federal, state and local regulatory agencies highly preferred
  • Electrical safety expertise is preferred
  • Previous experience in the solar/renewables/energy products industry preferred
  • Evidence of exceptional ability
