ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive environment, health and safety management systems and processes
  • Keep abreast of pending environmental regulatory changes and advise plant leadership accordingly
  • Team with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Legal, Quality, Product Stewardship, and Corporate EHS to ensure integration of environmental and sustainability activities into the plant’s overall business processes
  • Assist in the integration and divestiture of manufacturing facilities or offsite warehouses
  • Internal environmental record keeping and reporting
  • Collect data and prepare external environmental reports (e.g., CAA, CWA, RCRA, EPCRA) as necessary
  • Support responses to governmental agency requests for information on present and past environmental activities
  • Partner with Electrolux site and functional leadership in the development and implementation of specific environmental activities and initiatives
  • Facilitate regional and global sharing of best practices between Electrolux sites
  • Direct investigation of incidents and violations through root cause analysis, including developing and implementing corrective and preventive measures
  • Ensure compliance to Process Safety Management (PSM) Programs

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing EHS, preferable in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • ISO 14001, OSHA VPP, or OHSAS 18001, Construction/ Project Management, hands on experience desired

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with applicable NFPA Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of continuous manufacturing processes
  • Skilled in project management
  • Working knowledge of air-permitting requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the capability to promote positive behavior through effective recognition
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to use influencing skills to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Strong business acumen and ability to embrace and drive positive change within an organization
  • Occupational Health Management System and PHA software experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, work with site management and technical professionals; team with diverse functions; develop strong partnerships; communicate, influence and build consensus 
  • Experienced in the planning and implementation of EHS management systems and compliance programs
  • Demonstrated success in leading/facilitating environmental process improvements and management systems 
  • Specialized knowledge and successful track record in the design, implementation, and monitoring of critical EHS programs including those associated with air emissions, auditing, emergency planning, incident investigation, pollution control, spill response, wastewater treatment, waste management, SPCC, TRI  reporting, AST/UST , and general chemical management
  • Experienced with Change Management
  • Knowledge of US Federal, state, and local environmental and transportation laws, regulations, rules and standards 
  • Willing and able to work in plant areas (i.e. walk long distances, stand, climb stairs and ladders and move through close spaces) to understand and monitor the process
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills 
  • Strong computer skills 
  • Self-motivated; ability to independently make informed and prioritized decisions
  • Strong oral and written communications skills and the ability to work in both individual and team industrial work settings with minimum supervision
