The EHS Safety Director is responsible for ensuring the overall working conditions compliance with internal standards, local and corporate occupational safety and health regulations and procedures in the Northern California region. Observes workers to determine use of prescribed and proper safety equipment, such as glasses, helmets, respirators, fall protection and clothing. Addresses EHS issues in conjunction with local project EHS staff. The EHS Director is responsible for oversight of all EHS Managers assigned to the local office.
What You'll Do:
• Directs and administers specific functions of the EHS program at the company or project level;
• Creates, evaluates, educates, and administers the EHS program for all levels of employees;
• Conducts surveys, evaluations, inspections, and investigations of incidents and activities without supervision;
• Active participant on local leadership team to advise team of key EHS related matters;
• Gathers information and correlates data;
• Able to perform all aspects of EHS training;
• Ability to run multi-projects on one site;
• Refines working knowledge of EHS programs by applying EHS procedures;
• Directs and supervises the activities of subordinates;
• Participates in monitoring and controlling EHS standards;
• Prepares, maintains, and retrieves records, reports, or documents that may be required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements, including monitoring application of EHS standards;
• Promotes EHS awareness and fosters this awareness throughout the company, projects or office;
• Promotes the IFE Culture between clients, co-workers and subcontractors;
• Supports all IFE Committee Initiatives on site;
• Performs other duties as assigned.
We’re Looking For:
• Ten to fifteen (10 - 15) years of experience in the field or in a related area;
• Bachelors degree with a preference for a degree in Health and Safety or equivalent;
• CHST certification is preferred;
• Strong computer knowledge and efficiency, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office products;
• Strong understanding of construction and general industry;
• Excellent understanding of Pre Task Planning;
• Excellent understanding, as well as develop and administer the ISO 14001/OHSAS 45001 management system;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English;
• Strong understanding of our Values, lives our Values and consistently works to create a culture around our Values;
• Strong collaborator that works with all levels of our organization and project sites to be a resource, not a roadblock;
• Basic math/statistic & accounting skills;
• Budget management skillset;
• Functions effectively as part of a team;

• Dependable and able to travel to jobsites throughout the local office geography;
• Quick Decision Maker;
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times;
• Holder of an OSHA 30 hour certificate and other trainings.
