Responsible for EHS performance at the site;
Support and grow the Safety Action Teams;
Oversee and optimize EHS systems and policies;
Support regional operations leadership in identifying priorities, objectives, and targets to align the region with corporate strategies and in developing a strong safety culture company-wide;
Develop in-depth understanding of and ensure conformance and compliance to applicable regulations (local, State, and Federal);
Assist in identifying site training needs and developing and assisting in implementation of training initiatives;
Develop and assist in implementation of programs and practices that diminish hazards and create a safe work environment;
Frequent communication with operations leadership to take a proactive stance to progress toward completion of prioritized safety, health, and environmental action items;
Ensure integrity of EHS data for the site;
Facilitate leadership’s understanding of the impact of regulations on the company;
Partner with other EHS Leaders to leverage global EHS best practices;
Develop and plan creative ways to celebrate safety milestones;
Effectively coaches others at their respective levels to continuously strive to increase their knowledge and actively participate in safety initiatives across the site; and
Be the focal for care management and claims as required.

Experience as a recognized safety advocate on an emotional level to allow you to personally influence other people in the organization (this experience does not include managing safety or environmental systems).
4-yr Degree or equivalent, preferred – Engineering, environmental, safety, or similar
Familiarity and ability to reinterpret standards/regulations
Preferred Safety Certifications (CSP, CIH, or equivalent)
5+ years experience in managing safety, health, and environmental
Technical competence in environmental compliance
Experience dealing with regulatory authorities
Language (Competent in English)
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and/or ability to review and determine applicability
