Overview

Manage the Environmental Health & Safety for Anaheim. Implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state, and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations. Maintain plant policies to keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Review all projects for input related to affects on EHS Programs and permits. Serve as contact with federal, state and regulatory bodies

Responsibilities

Essential Jo b Functions :

• Maintain accurate and complete EHS records in accordance with governing regulations and company policies.
• 
  
• Measure Plant performance benchmarking against best in class manufacturing and leadership role to create and implement plans to improve performance.
• 
  
• Encourage and maintain high employee involvement in safety and health systems including Berry Safety Audit requirements.
• 
  
• Conduct EHS program training for new hires and organize annual training. Develop and conduct new training programs as needed.
• 
  
• Conduct incident investigations including "root cause analysis" for corrective action.
• 
  
• Perform worksite and incident trend analysis to sustain a comprehensive system for hazard prevention and control.
• 
  
• Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy, procedures and manuals.
• 
  
• Ensures compliance with all EHS regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
• 
  
• Serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies.

• Maintain MSDS program.
• 
  
• Ability to effectively coordinate EHS functions and maintains a professional manner with all co-workers.

Qualifications

Position requires a bachelor's degree in the area of safety and/or engineering OR other BS degree OR relevant EH&S experience. Strong leadership qualities. Requires 3-4 years of experience in the EH&S field or in a related area in a manufacturing environment. CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or equivalent preferred.
