Your Mission:
The Education and Enablement (E&E) Manager will work with the Professional Services (PS) organization (including executives) to identify education and enablement needs, make solution recommendations, and oversee solution execution. Within the Academy, the E&E Manager will also provide Subject Matter Expertise in the Clinical Industry and represent the needs and interests of the PS organization in the Academy. These learning solutions include, but are not limited to Medidata solution/product certifications, new PS colleague on-boarding, audience-specific learning tracks, implementation methods & tools, skills and competencies matrix, and driving for user adoption for these areas. This position requires the flexibility to simultaneously create and implement all aspects of the PS training process in a fast-paced, growing environment, and supportinternal training company-wide in general. This position also owns responsibility for the maintenance and growth of the Associate Program. This position has responsibilities that extend globally to all of Medidata locations.

A passion for education and/or a background in instructional design focusing on adult learners i.e. developing training and documentation, combined with excellent project management and leadership skills, make for an ideal candidate.

  • For the Associate Professional Services Program:

    • Lead on-campus recruitment with Talent Acquisition and PS leads for US and UK associate recruiting.

    • Oversee program design including business acumen, industry and clinical trial instruction, technical and product training, and personal and professional development.

    • Coordinate program delivery, including providing on-site instruction and facilitating sessions as needed.

    • Utilize feedback to make real-time adjustments to programming.

    • Mentor and lead Associates through the first 180 days, coaching through transitions, challenges, and adjustment periods as they assimilate into the culture and work environment.

  • Partner with Medidata Academy as well as other learning and enablement teams to create instructor-led courses, eLearning courses, and other training programs/materials. independently and/or utilizing Subject Matter Experts.

  • Lead change management plans, development and delivery on department specific and enterprise wide projects.

  • For new and existing courses, assist with:

    • Needs-analysis

    • Timeline/resource estimations

    • Course design, production, quality control, and implementation

  • Ensure deliverables are completed on time with high quality and adhere to company standards.

  • Represent Medidata Academy on assigned development projects.

  • Assist with the development and roll-out of knowledge transfer and train-the-trainer programs to Medidata Academy team members for product and industry related courses.

  • Respond to inquiries using good judgment, tact, and courtesy, sometimes in stressful situations.

Your Competencies:

  • History of success in leading training initiatives, product launch initiatives, leadership development, curriculum design, and training evaluation.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic vision for PS education and enablement that aligns with current and future PS business strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor younger colleagues in difficult situations.

  • Ability to understand and differentiate audiences to be trained.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete those projects on time while effectively demonstrating the ability to influence others and accomplish goals within a matrix-ed environment.

  • Solid analytical, technical, and research skills.

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical patient management.

  • Strong knowledge of clinical drug development (e.g. Phases 1- 5, study start-up, study execution, study close) and clinical roles.

  • Thorough knowledge of FDA regulation, GCP, and ICH guidelines.

  • Corporate training and curricula/courseware development experience and/or degree or professional certificate in education-related field (Instructional Design, eLearning Technology, Learning Theory, etc.) a plus.

  • Ability to understand software products and write structured course content in a consistent fashion.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skill.

  • Self-motivated, able to assume responsibility and work autonomously in a professional manner.

  • Position is based in Edison, NJ office.

  • Additional travel approximately 15% (East Coast offices, instruction, recruiting, conferences, etc.)

Your Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent, preferably in Life Science, Adult Education, or related field

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of progressive consulting experience in Life Sciences, especially in the clinical trial process, and/or Technology industry or 4-6 years training and development experience.
