Job Overview

Deutsche Bank is seeking an individual to lead the development, implementation, and management of an end-to-end eDiscovery documentation program.  The eDiscovery Documentation Specialist maintains policies, procedures, and process map and ensures standardized, repeatable, defensible and auditable process documentation for operational-related activities.  eDiscovery Operations is the function within the Bank and COO Division which is responsible for identifying, preserving, collecting and delivering electronically stored information to internal requestors and external third-parties.

The eDiscovery Documentation Specialist is responsible for:

  • Documenting eDiscovery fundamentals, principles, policies, procedures, process maps, and training material
  • Maintaining the integrity of working documents and updating documentation with revisions as a result of a project, reorganization, process or system changes
  • Utilizing a variety of software to write, edit, revise, and compare documents according to guidelines
  • Interviewing internal eDicsovery and IT team leads to understand work functions and processes and gather information
  • Writing detailed policy and procedure documents based on discussions with process owners and identifying / creating end-to-end process flows with an emphasis on accuracy and compliance with business needs
  • Consult with Legal eDiscovery team to ensure technology and processes align with a defensible discovery process
  • Overseeing the SharePoint documentation site and maintaining the document repository (i.e. process owners, review dates, system impacts, etc.)
  • Identifying and documenting the resolution of continuous improvement opportunities in collaboration with management and team leads to increase efficiencies, improve quality and reduce costs

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Education-Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education plus equivalent work experience preferably with a credentials in writing (Communications, English, etc.)
  • Previous relevant experience working in a documentation or technical writing role, preferably within the field of eDiscovery
  • Expert knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them to a non-technical audience and the ability to translate legal and regulatory processes and requirements to IT partners
  • Knowledge and experience developing process maps and procedural documentation
  • Familiarity with the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) lifecycle preferred

  • Analytically minded and driven to identify, document, research, recommend, design, and coordinate the implementation of innovative improvements to systems, workflows, operations, training, and policies to increase efficiencies, improve quality and reduce costs
  • Efficiently navigate MS Office products, including Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio and SharePoint
  • Ability to work independently and to establish, monitor and achieve goals with minimal supervision
