SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: The Systems Engineer in this role will provide support to the Missile Defense Agency Multi-Object Kill Vehicle and the Hypersonic Defense Weapon Systems programs. Duties will include support of Government Lead Systems Engineer during comprehensive requirements analysis and management during all phases of development for both programs. In addition, will assist Government with oversight of contractor activities; including identification and conduct of required analyses; requirements identification and execution assessments; application of processes and standards for component, assembly and system testing; and integration plans and schedules. Will also work with stakeholders throughout development process to ensure application of all system specifications and that performance requirements understood, appropriately allocated, tracked and verified. Will review assigned Prime Contractor analyses plans and verification approach for feasibility and quality controls;
collect/provide assistance to independent evaluations of contractor-performed analyses. Will be responsible for planning and supporting Systems Engineering Reviews and for ensuring coordination and adherence to Systems Engineering Plan and contractual documents. Functions also include support of Engineering Reviews at Prime and Subcontractors pertaining to System Engineering to ensure quality; communicate, track and resolve issues. Will review and provide comments on assigned Prime Contractor Objective Evidence in support of major Milestone Reviews, assist in resolution of program/contractor comments, and generate/coordinate briefing and decision packages intended for senior leadership.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: BS/MS degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent training, and 5+ years of related work experience with at least 7 years’ experience as a system engineer.
