Job Summary

Our highly regarded Bond & Specialty Insurance Information Technology organization seeks a talented professional to join our growing organization as a .NET Developer on the Claim ART (Agile Release Train). You will work on a System Team following Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles and will be responsible for assisting inthe development, maintenance, testing and support of Bond Claim applications. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for system programming and analysis tasks of intermediate complexity within a single system or group of small systems. Responsibilities include performing analysis, design, programming and configuration functions (includes defining technical requirements) with a very high degree of accuracy and speed. Performs analysis, assessment and resolution for defects and incidents of intermediate complexity and escalates appropriately. Builds effective relationships with stakeholders. Utilizes business knowledge to explain technical activities in business terms. Seeks opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities. Performs basic project management responsibilities. Coordinates project work with GSO partners. Provides technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced employees. Applies knowledge of current industry trends and techniques to formulate solutions within the context of assigned projects. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. 3 years of programming/development experience required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. 5 years of programming/development experience preferred.

Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies

Works on the Claim Train System Team to assist with:

  • Technical runway
  • Feature development
  • Designing, developing, and executing both manual and automated tests
  • Defect analysis and resolution
  • Support production release cycles
  • Dev Ops support and coordination
  • Assist Feature Teams with the elimination of blockers

Demonstrates advanced programming/configuration/analytical skills to achieve business and or technical requirements. Able to work independently to resolve discrepancies, defects, incidents or problems with understanding of thebusiness and system impacts. Able to identify and exercise appropriate escalation communications. Demonstrates an aptitude for learning and applying new and/or updated programming languages, techniques, and/or software development disciplines. Demonstrates understanding of the supported business systems. 
Required Skills:

  • Advanced VB.NET, C#, HTML, CSS3, JavaScript and ASP.NET MVC
  • Advanced level SQL Server development
  • Unit testing using MSTest and/or NUnit
  • Source control practices leveraging SVN, Team Foundation or similar
  • Web services using WCF, WebAPI and Micro-service architectures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an Agile Team environment
  • Experience with automated testing – unit and integrated
  • Experience with the latest web technologies (Angular, Vue.js, Node, etc.)
  • Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of database design concepts
  • Proficient in .Net Core, SQL, HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, C#, Pivotal Cloud Foundry
  • Working knowledge of test automation practices, and frameworks using tools such as UFT, Selenium, JMeter or similar
  • Dev Ops support experience
  • Experience working with Jenkins
  • Experience with Trunk Based Development
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes
  • Understanding and practical application of Domain Driven Design and other design patterns
